Zettabyte and Raku Advanced Tech Sign MOU on Green AI Data Centers Across Asia

Zettabyte, a global AI computing company, and Raku Advanced Tech, a Taipei-based smart-energy and AI infrastructure integrator and a wholly owned subsidiary of Raku Co., Ltd. (TPEx: 4154), have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly promote green AI data center capacity across Asia, beginning with Taiwan and Thailand. The collaboration combines Zettabyte's compute operations with Raku Advanced Tech's energy and data center build-out, reflecting a growing recognition that AI expansion in the region now hinges as much on power availability as on computing hardware.

The agreement comes as demand for AI computing across Asia is outpacing local data center capacity. Under the MOU, Zettabyte will deliver and measure high-quality compute through its zSUITE platform, while Raku Advanced Tech will develop the data centers and supply solar power generation, energy storage, and energy management systems. Together, the two companies plan to bring AI data centers online in phases across Asia, powered by Raku Advanced Tech's renewable energy. Taiwan serves as home base for both companies and is a central hub for AI hardware supply and computing demand, while Thailand ranks among Southeast Asia's fastest-growing data center markets.

Kenneth Tai, Chairman of Zettabyte, framed the partnership as a response to the dual demands of the AI era: "AI growth in Asia now depends as much on power as on compute. With Raku Advanced Tech, we can supply both and expand AI capacity across the region." Davis Chuang, Chairman of Raku Advanced Tech and Director of Raku Co., Ltd., echoed that view, noting that the division of responsibilities is designed to address both market demand and cost pressures: "Raku Advanced Tech builds the data centers and powers them with solar and storage, while Zettabyte operates the compute infrastructure inside. By joining forces, we address both the market's AI demand and the challenge of energy costs."

The two companies said they will explore AI data center projects together while upholding shared ESG commitments to environmental protection and workforce development. The partnership underscores a broader shift in Asia's data center industry, where operators are increasingly integrating renewable energy generation and storage into facility planning to manage the twin pressures of rising electricity costs and sustainability mandates. By pairing compute operations with dedicated green power infrastructure, Zettabyte and Raku Advanced Tech aim to establish a replicable model for AI data center deployment across the region, starting with two markets that sit at the intersection of hardware supply, energy transition, and accelerating AI adoption.
