TCS’ HyperVault to establish large-scale AI data center campus in Telangana

HYDERABAD | MUMBAI, SEPTEMBER 05, 2026: HyperVault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has secured 264 acres of land to develop a large-scale AI data center campus of up to 1GW capacity in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The Hyderabad AI data center campus will be purpose-built to serve frontier AI companies and hyperscalers, enabling high-density GPU deployments for AI training, inference, and advanced computing workloads. Development of the campus will be executed in phases, in line with customer demand and technology requirements.

At full build-out, the campus is expected to rank among the most advanced and largest AI infrastructure campuses in India. It will leverage green energy and water-neutral design principles as part of the build-out. The project is expected to strengthen Telangana’s position as a strategic hub for artificial intelligence and advanced digital infrastructure, while supporting India’s wider AI infrastructure ecosystem across power, cooling, networking, construction, engineering, and operations. The project is expected to generate several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the region. HyperVault and its partners are expected to invest up to Rs 70,000 crore to build and manage the infrastructure.

Telangana Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy called the project “historic” not just for Telangana but for India. He said the development establishes Hyderabad at the forefront of the global AI revolution, with a strong focus on infrastructure.

IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, who led the negotiations, said the partnership had progressed at speed and that Telangana’s process clarity and execution speed signal to global investors that “Telangana Means Business.” He also said the agreement grew from a conversation between the Chief Minister and N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, in Davos in January 2026.

K Krithivasan, CEO & MD of TCS, said HyperVault advances TCS’ Infrastructure-to-Intelligence strategy by bringing together AI-ready infrastructure with cloud, engineering, enterprise transformation, and AI capabilities. He said Hyderabad offers the scale, talent, and ecosystem to serve global customers.

Deepesh Kiran Nanda, CEO and MD of HyperVault AI Data Center Limited, said the company is building infrastructure for higher density, liquid cooling, larger power blocks, and faster deployment for frontier AI companies and hyperscalers.

HyperVault AI Data Center Limited is being built in phases toward capacity in excess of one gigawatt. Its purpose-built, liquid-cooled data centers are designed to feature direct-to-chip cooling, high rack density, green power combined with reliability, and network connectivity for AI training and inferencing workloads.
