Salesforce and Anthropic have unveiled Claudeforce, an expanded partnership designed to embed Salesforce data, business logic, workflows, and governed actions directly within Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant. The move marks a significant step in bringing advanced reasoning models closer to the operational systems that enterprises already rely on daily.

The first product to emerge from the collaboration is Salesforce in Claude, a plugin featuring 37 prebuilt sales skills. According to Salesforce, the plugin provides sellers and agents with access to live revenue context for tasks such as meeting preparation, deal health reviews, and pipeline analysis, while also enabling approved actions to be executed directly from within Claude. This integration aims to reduce friction between conversational AI and the structured data housed in a CRM platform.

The companies describe the offering as a way to position a reasoning model alongside the customer information and workflow rules that already exist inside a CRM environment. Salesforce noted that its AIforce architecture leverages Model Context Protocol servers, APIs, and command-line tools to expose authorized business data and workflows to AI agents, ensuring that interactions remain governed and compliant with corporate policies.

Beyond the initial plugin, Salesforce and Anthropic plan to extend integrations across Claude, Salesforce, and Slack, broadening the reach of AI-driven assistance into collaboration and communication channels. The release states that select pilots are currently available, with an open beta expected to launch in September.

The announcement comes at a time when enterprise software vendors are racing to connect generative AI assistants to operational systems. For customers, the practical challenge will center on how permissions, data access, auditability, and human approval are configured when an assistant moves beyond retrieving information and begins initiating workflow actions. Claudeforce appears designed to address these concerns by embedding governance directly into the integration framework, a critical factor as enterprises seek to scale AI adoption without compromising control.
