Nano Nuclear Partners with Tillman Digital to Deploy Micro Nuclear Reactors at US AI Data Centers

US advanced nuclear firm Nano Nuclear has entered into a non-binding strategic framework agreement with data center builder Tillman Digital Gateway to explore the deployment of its Kronos micro nuclear reactor across Tillman's planned AI industrial zones in the United States. The partnership marks a significant step in the growing convergence between the nuclear energy sector and the hyperscale digital infrastructure industry, as demand for reliable, carbon-free baseload power continues to surge.

Under the agreement, Nano Nuclear is identified as Tillman's anticipated preferred nuclear technology provider, with a structure established for collaboration across the full nuclear project-development lifecycle. This includes site evaluation and due diligence, licensing and development planning, customer engagement, and project deployment. The companies are targeting the deployment of 2GW of nuclear capacity by the mid-2030s, with ambitions to reach 6GW or more by 2040. These deployments will remain subject to general and site-specific definitive agreements, customer commitments, financing, regulatory approvals, and other project requirements.

The Kronos reactor, Nano's primary offering, is a stationary high-temperature gas-cooled reactor designed to produce 15MW of electricity. Its units are engineered for long-term deployment of up to 20 years without refueling, making them particularly suited for the sustained, high-density power demands of AI campuses. This deal represents Nano's second foray into the digital infrastructure sector, following a memorandum of understanding with Super Micro in May.

James Walker, CEO of Nano Nuclear, emphasized the strategic importance of the collaboration. "This framework represents a milestone in our future customer acquisition strategy, as Tillman brings deep infrastructure-development capabilities, access to capital and relationships across the technology ecosystem, together with a power-first approach to developing the next generation of AI campuses," he said. "By planning for nuclear at the earliest stages of site development, we believe we can establish a practical pathway to introduce reliable, baseload power as these campuses scale."

Sachit Ahuja, co-president of Tillman Global Holdings, echoed that sentiment, noting that "meeting the extraordinary power requirements of next-generation AI infrastructure requires us to plan not only for what our campuses need today, but for the resilient, scalable power architecture they will require for decades to come."

The planned capacity is intended to support Tillman's US expansion strategy, which centers on a multi-state AI industrial zone approach. Tillman currently has no operational facilities in the US, though its parent company, Tillman Global Holdings, has data center projects under development in India, as well as planned projects in Singapore, Japan, the UK, and the UAE.

The partnership places Tillman among a growing list of digital infrastructure players backing advanced nuclear technologies. Amazon, Google, Data4, Oracle, Switch, and Equinix have all signed similar deals with advanced nuclear firms in recent years, reflecting a broader industry shift toward securing long-term, behind-the-meter power solutions for AI-driven workloads.
