Jati Tinggi Secures RM30.1mil Contract for Data Centre Power Infrastructure in Johor

By: IDCNOVARegion: Southeast Asia
Jati Tinggi Group Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, Jati Tinggi Holding Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM30.1mil contract to undertake power infrastructure works for a data centre in Kulai, Johor, underscoring the growing demand for specialised electrical infrastructure as Malaysia's data centre market continues to expand.

The group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that its subsidiary had accepted a letter of acceptance from a Malaysian-incorporated company principally involved in providing data hosting infrastructure, data processing services and related activities. The contract covers the design, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of two circuits of 275kV underground cable ducting works and 11kV temporary power cable works, which will support the power infrastructure requirements of the data centre in Kulai.

The RM30.1mil contract sum is inclusive of taxes, insurance coverage and the Construction Industry Development Board levy. The contract is effective from the date of acceptance and runs through July 25, 2027.

Jati Tinggi said the contract is expected to contribute positively to its earnings, earnings per share and net assets per share over the contract period. The award reflects the expanding opportunities for local engineering and construction firms as data centre operators race to secure reliable, high-capacity power infrastructure in Malaysia's southern Johor region, which has emerged as a key hub for hyperscale and enterprise data centre development.
