HCLTech, a leading global technology company, announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Hewlett Packard Enterprise's (HPE) Telco Solutions business. The deal, initially announced in December 2025, marks another significant step in HCLTech's strategy to expand its telecommunications capabilities through AI-driven and engineering-led solutions.
The acquisition follows HCLTech's integration of HPE's Communications Technology Group (CTG) business in 2024, positioning the company as a stronger partner for communications service providers (CSPs) worldwide. As CSPs accelerate their investments in AI-powered network transformation, next-generation infrastructure, and autonomous operations, the expanded portfolio enables HCLTech to help customers modernize applications, adopt AI-based solutions, and unlock new revenue streams from their networks.
By combining the expertise, talent, intellectual property, and solutions of both CTG and Telco Solutions with HCLTech's engineering excellence and more than three decades of experience in the communications industry, the company has created a differentiated offering for CSPs. The strategic combination is designed to help operators accelerate AI-driven autonomous operations from radio to core, while capitalizing on growth opportunities in virtualization, network convergence, multicloud, edge computing, data centers, Network-as-a-Service (NaaS), private 5G, and the evolving telecom OEM ecosystem.
The transaction brings several key benefits. HCLTech expands its presence in the CSP market across North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, including Japan, enhancing its ability to support global operators through local delivery capabilities. The integration of nearly 1,400 engineering and telecommunications specialists across 39 countries strengthens the company's engineering capacity and nearshore service delivery in markets such as Japan, Spain, Romania, Italy, India, and Latin America. Additionally, HCLTech's leadership in the telecom sector is elevated through differentiated intellectual property, product engineering talent, and trusted relationships with leading global service providers.
