CoreWeave, Inc. (Nasdaq: CRWV), the Essential Cloud for AI, has announced its entry into the Indian market through a collaboration with AdaniConneX, a 50:50 joint venture between Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX. The company plans to deploy 240 megawatts of data center capacity in Navi Mumbai, marking a significant expansion of its global AI cloud infrastructure footprint and underscoring the growing demand for purpose-built AI compute in one of the world's fastest-growing technology ecosystems.

The planned campus will span three 80 MW buildings at AdaniConneX's Taloja campus and is designed specifically for high-density AI infrastructure. The facilities will incorporate direct liquid cooling for GPU data halls and a non-evaporative chilled water system, engineering choices intended to support future generations of AI computing as technology evolves. CoreWeave plans to deploy the NVIDIA Vera Rubin Platform on its AI cloud platform at the site, bringing next-generation infrastructure to the region for increasingly complex AI training, inference, reasoning, and agentic workloads. The first phase of the project is expected to be available in mid-2028, with additional capacity coming online in phases. CoreWeave will be the sole tenant across the three buildings, with the opportunity to double capacity by expanding by up to 240 MW at the campus.

As part of the expansion, CoreWeave intends to invest in India by establishing a local office and hiring domestically, creating an on-the-ground presence to collaborate with customers and partners throughout India's growing AI ecosystem. The investment supports India's national AI ambitions, including the IndiaAI Mission, and reinforces the country's emerging role as a destination for data center investment.

"India has the talent, developers, and ambition to become a major center of AI innovation," said Sachin Jain, Chief Operating Officer of CoreWeave. "We are investing in the infrastructure, technology, and local presence needed to support that growth, bringing 240 megawatts of capacity, NVIDIA Vera Rubin, and CoreWeave's expertise to customers building and scaling AI in India."

The expansion into India reflects growing customer demand for CoreWeave's AI cloud and the company's strategy of bringing its purpose-built platform closer to customers around the world. It also advances CoreWeave's growth across geographies, industries, and customer segments as AI adoption accelerates globally. The move follows the company's recent entry into Indonesia and builds on its existing footprint across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. As of its earnings call on August 11, 2026, CoreWeave had approximately 4.2 gigawatts of contracted power.

For India, the partnership with CoreWeave represents a significant endorsement of the country's data center market and its potential to serve as a hub for AI infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific region. AdaniConneX, founded with a vision to build a 1 GW environmentally and socially conscious data center platform, gains a major anchor tenant for its Taloja campus. For CoreWeave, the deployment deepens its presence in a region where demand for specialized AI compute is rising rapidly, positioning the company to serve enterprises and foundation model developers seeking high-performance infrastructure outside traditional Western markets.
