Bridge Data Centers, a major Asia-Pacific data center operator, has introduced a new prefabricated and containerized power module designed to support the rapid deployment of high-density AI infrastructure. The company launched PowerCore 5.0 this week in collaboration with Morong Electric, a Chinese power solutions provider specializing in modular data center products.
The new module is built within a 40-foot ISO container frame and integrates transformers, power distribution, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), cooling, fire suppression, and monitoring systems into a single unit. Each module is fully assembled and tested off-site, allowing for streamlined installation and reduced reliance on on-site construction.
Zhang Binghua, CTO of Bridge Data Centers, said the AI infrastructure sector is scaling at an unprecedented rate, and operators now require higher power density, faster hardware refreshes, and maximum uptime. "This shift requires us to rethink how power systems are designed and deployed. PowerCore 5.0 raises the bar on system integration, cross-climate operation, delivery speed and intelligent operations and maintenance. It will enable standardized, low-carbon compute deployments across the globe and provide the stable power foundation to support the continued growth of the global AI ecosystem," he said.
According to the company, the prefabricated design allows on-site civil works and factory fabrication to proceed simultaneously, cutting total delivery timelines by more than 50 percent compared with conventional build methods. For large campuses, the units can be deployed on a bi-weekly cadence, which the firm says significantly accelerates the pace of compute infrastructure rollouts.
In addition to faster deployment, the module is engineered for maintainability. Core components including UPS units, transformers, and precision cooling systems are mounted on slide-out rails, enabling easier access and replacement during operation. This design choice reflects a broader industry push toward modular, serviceable infrastructure that can keep pace with rapid hardware evolution.
Zhang Kai, chairman of Morong Electric, noted that AI hardware now evolves on a monthly cycle, and traditional on-site system integration can no longer keep up with the operational needs of modern AI data centers. "Prefabricated power modules clear the delivery bottlenecks holding back compute infrastructure expansion. This launch marks a critical milestone in our strategic partnership, and we will continue to co-develop high-performance, integrated power solutions that meet global market standards and regional compliance requirements," he added.
The launch comes amid growing demand for power-dense, rapidly deployable infrastructure across the AI sector. As operators race to build out capacity for next-generation workloads, prefabricated power systems are emerging as a key enabler for standardized, scalable data center construction. The partnership between Bridge Data Centers and Morong Electric underscores a broader trend of collaboration between operators and equipment manufacturers to address the power and cooling challenges of AI-era facilities.
