BTQ Technologies and TIDAL PWR Partner to Develop Secure Quantum Data Center Architecture

By: IDCNOVARegion: East Asia
BTQ Technologies, a global quantum technology company headquartered in Taipei, announced a strategic collaboration with TIDAL PWR, a specialist in digital infrastructure and energy systems, to develop a trusted quantum data center architecture. The partnership aims to address growing vulnerabilities in conventional data center security as quantum computing advances, combining BTQ’s post-quantum cryptographic solutions with TIDAL PWR’s expertise in resilient infrastructure design.

The collaboration focuses on creating a reference architecture that integrates quantum-safe security protocols directly into the physical and digital layers of data center operations. This includes protecting data in transit, at rest, and during processing against potential threats from future quantum computers. Both companies emphasized that the initiative is not merely theoretical but targets practical, deployable systems for high-security environments such as government, finance, and critical national infrastructure.

Under the agreement, BTQ will contribute its proprietary cryptographic algorithms and quantum security frameworks, while TIDAL PWR will provide its experience in building energy-efficient, high-reliability data centers. The joint effort is expected to produce design guidelines and technical blueprints that can be adopted by operators seeking to future-proof their facilities against the so-called “harvest now, decrypt later” attack vector, where encrypted data is collected today with the intent of decrypting it once quantum computers become powerful enough.

The partnership underscores a broader industry shift toward proactive security measures in data center design. As quantum computing edges closer to commercial viability, the need for quantum-resistant infrastructure is becoming a priority for enterprises and governments alike. By embedding security at the architectural level rather than as an afterthought, BTQ and TIDAL PWR aim to set a new standard for trust in digital infrastructure, potentially influencing how next-generation data centers are built globally.
