Agoda and NTT DATA Partner to Boost Renewable Energy and Data Centre Efficiency in Singapore

Agoda and NTT DATA have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at enhancing the energy efficiency of Agoda's IT operations in Singapore, while preserving the performance, availability and reliability required to serve millions of travellers worldwide. The partnership underscores a growing trend among digital platforms to align infrastructure management with sustainability goals without compromising service quality.

As part of the initiative, Agoda confirmed that the electricity consumed by its eligible IT infrastructure hosted at NTT Global Data Centres' Singapore facility is now matched with 100% locally generated renewable energy certificates. This move positions the company to reduce its carbon footprint while maintaining the operational resilience expected from a global travel platform.

The collaboration also includes measures to reduce electricity consumption across Agoda's servers and cooling systems. NTT Global Data Centres' Singapore facility holds both BCA Green Mark Platinum and LEED Gold certifications, reflecting a strong commitment to sustainable building and operational practices. These certifications are part of a broader effort to advance renewable energy adoption and data centre efficiency in the region.

Agoda's internal measurements from 2026 showed that the digital travel platform decreased energy consumption by up to 16% for eligible workloads through dynamic power management. In addition, adjusting fan speeds as needed has reduced cooling-related energy use by approximately 40% per eligible server. NTT Global Data Centres further supports these efficiencies by deploying facility-level airflow and cooling management systems, creating a layered approach to energy optimisation.
