Recently, China Mobile (Guangdong) has completed the construction of a 700MHz 5G network in the Shenzhen-Shantou Special Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as "Shenshan-Shantou Cooperation Zone"), which is the first in the country to achieve full coverage of rural 5G networks. China Mobile (Guangdong) uses the dual-band hybrid networking of the 700MHz network and the 2.6GHz network to complement each other in coverage and capacity to provide an information highway for digital villages and eliminate the digital divide between urban and rural areas.
As the only rural area in Shenzhen, the Shenzhen-Shantou Cooperation Zone is the main battlefield for Shenzhen's rural revitalization strategy. The Shenzhen branch of China Mobile (Guangdong) completed and opened 117 700MHz 5G base stations within two months. After the base station is opened, the maximum coverage distance of a single site in the field test is up to 3 kilometers. After the optimization of the continuous coverage, the downlink rate exceeds 200Mbps and the uplink rate exceeds 100Mbps.
The 700MHz frequency band is jointly built and shared by China Mobile and China Radio and Television. Compared with the existing 2.6GHz frequency band, the 5G network has the advantages of low frequency, long coverage distance, strong diffraction ability, good penetration effect, and low network cost, which can cover suburbs and rural areas. In termss of 5G construction, the use of 700MHz networking can effectively supplement the existing 2.6GHz band 5G base station. In the Shenzhen-Shantou Cooperation Zone, 700MHz networking can use fewer base stations to achieve full signal coverage. Based on the 5G network in the 700MHz frequency band, combined with drone equipment, the intelligent farmland supervision project is also being carried out on a local pilot basis.
Today, with the Shenzhen-Shantou cooperation zone as a benchmark, China Mobile's 700MHz 5G site construction is being carried out in an orderly manner in the Greater Bay Area.
