On October 23, the first phase of the China Telecom Central Data Center project held a groundbreaking ceremony in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province.
China Telecom Central Data Center (Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone) is located in Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone. It is a large-scale data center fully invested by China Telecom. The usable land area for data center construction is 138 acres. The overall plan of the project is to build seven data centers, two oil generator buildings, a substation and a comprehensive service center. The total construction area is about 180,000 square meters and the total investment is CNY 3.4 billion.

The data center is designed to hold about 28,000 racks, and will focus on the construction of optical fiber networks, cloud computing data management centers, IDC data management centers, and large-channel transmission. The construction will be implemented in phases and will be undertaken by China Construction Seventh Engineering Bureau.

The first phase of China Telecom Central Data Center (Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone) started on 23th October 2021. The construction includes 1# and 2# data centers, 1# oil machine building and outdoor ancillary projects. The total construction area is 43,000 square meters. It will be completed, delivered and put into use in June 2022.
Official information shows that the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone, where the data center is located, is currently the only aviation economic pilot zone approved by the State Council, with a planned area of 415 square kilometers. It will be a three-dimensional comprehensive transportation hub with multiple transportation modes such as airport, high-speed rail, subway, city rail, general speed railway, highway and super highway. The advantageous industries of Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone: aviation logistics, high-end manufacturing, and modern service industries.
According to the IDCquan, Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone currently has Henan Province Mobile Data Center Phase II and Xintai Science and Technology Industrial Park, which are undergoing main and secondary structure construction.
