Sustainability and environmental responsibility remain one of the top priorities of Vantage Data Centers. The new facility will use efficient cooling and use the least amount of water to save resources. In addition, the park also adds other green features, such as solar façades, electric vehicle charging stations, drought-resistant landscaping, green roofs, and motion sensor LED lighting.
It is reported that Vantage Data Centers has already completed the shell building of the data center in Switzerland and is preparing for its first European super-large-scale data center to be delivered in 2021.
The facility is located in Winterthur, Switzerland, with a design capacity of 40MW. It is part of the service operator’s US$2 billion European expansion plan, which is equivalent to nearly RMB 13 billion, and aims to provide a sustainable data center service. The park that the facility belongs to covers an area of 7 acres, which is more than 28,000 square meters. Once fully developed, it can accommodate four multi-level data centers.
Wolfgang Zepf, Managing Director of Vantage Data Centers Switzerland, said that they have achieved two major milestones through rapid European expansion, including the completion of the first undeveloped data center enclosure near Zurich and the opening of the Frankfurt campus. They look forward to welcoming users use highly secure facilities with rich connectivity capabilities in the third quarter of next year.
