On 2 November, Alibaba officially announced that Central China headquarter project launched in Wuhan, Hubei Province, and the park will be completed in 2026. Alibaba Central China Headquarter and Industrial Community Base is located in Wuchang District, Wuhan City, with an above-ground construction area of approximately 300,000 square meters.

ZHANG Yong, Chairman and CEO of Alibaba Group, said that Wuhan has always been the key point of Alibaba’s development strategy. The company is willing to make use of the advantages of the business, finance, logistics, cloud computing, etc. built by Alibaba in the digital economy era in the past two decades to help Wuhan’s economic development.
At the same time, Ali will help Wuhan's entire new infrastructure development, support Wuhan's construction as a national center city, a national science and innovation center city and an international metropolis, to cooperate with Wuhan, to support Wuhan, to explore the development of mega cities, and new directions for modern governance.
In addition to the Hangzhou headquarter, Alibaba is also building the Beijing headquarter, which is located in the North District of Electronic City, Chaoyang District, Beijing. It is planned to put into use in 2024. The total construction area is 470,000 square meters, of which the above-ground construction area is about 250,000 square meters. The total investment is about CNY 6.89 billion.
