Recently,Beijing municipal government issued its Key Project Plan 2019.Among the listed 300 key projects,there are many other data center projects besides the prominent Alibaba headquarter,such as China Academy of Sciences IT network center,China Everbright Bank cloud computing center,China Mobile International Information Harbor and so on.
Alibaba invests 6.9 billion RMB for its Beijing Headquarter
Located at the northern part of Electronic Park of Chaoyang District,the Beijing Headquarter of Alibaba will break ground in November 2019 and be in operation in 2024,costing 6.9 billion yuan and occupying 470,000 square meters.
Alibaba Group initiated“dual headquarters”strategy in Beijing and Hangzhou since 2015,aiming to advance its strategic implementation and business development in North China.
According to the statistics as of August 2017,most business of Alibaba’s 18 Business Units had landed in Beijing,with an increment of 5,000 to 12,000 employees.
Alibaba regarded Beijing as another headquarter in terms of business intensity,service capability and management level,covering sci-tech,finance,e-commerce,entertainment,health,logistics,etc.
Beijing data center projects in 2019
Beijing plans to launch many data center projects in 2019,including Xiaomi Internet Electronic Park,China Everbright Cloud Computing Center,China Mobile International Information Harbor,etc.
As the crucial extension project of Beijing,Xiaomi Internet Electronic Park occupies 189,000 square meters,consisting of R&D building,R&D testing platform,experimental building and cloud computing center.As the second sci-tech park in Beijing,Xiaomi will invest 13.5 billion yuan for the construction.
China Everbright Bank Cloud Computing Center occupies around 100,000 square meters,dedicated to research and cloud computing.
China Mobile International Internet Information Harbor will be completed by three stages.The first stage of the project,occupying around 65,000 square meters,has been completed with an initial investment of 290 million yuan.
