STT GDC breaks ground on third Jakarta data center, Indonesia

And tops out second data center.

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) has broken ground on its third Indonesian data center in Jakarta and topped out its second.

“Contributing new capacity to Indonesia’s expanding digital economy, we mark a major milestone by topping off STT Jakarta 2 and breaking ground on STT Jakarta 3,” the company said on LinkedIn this week.Located within the Greenland International Industrial Centre (GIIC) in Bekasi, Jawa Barat, both facilities will each deliver 24MW of IT load upon completion; at full build-out, the four-building campus will have a capacity of more than 90MW, supported by a dedicated 150kV substation.

Plans for the campus were first announced in May 2021. The campus is being developed under a joint venture with leading Indonesian conglomerate Triputra Group and global investment company Temasek (which owns STT GDC).

The STT Jakarta 1 facility has been operational since June 2023, with a design IT capacity of 18MW across 198,850 sqft (18,475 sqm). Ground was broken on STT Jakarta 2 in September 2024. Jakarta 4 will offer 32MW.

Other operators in the Jakarta region include NTT, DigitalEdge, Princeton Digital Group, EdgeConneX, Equinix, AWS, Datahall, and DCI Indonesia.

NTT broke ground on its Jakarta data center last year. Its JKT3 campus is also located in Bekasi and was launched in April 2022.
