EPG breaks ground on US$ 80.23 million data center solutions facility

EPG Data Centre Module, a supplier of modular and liquid-cooled data center solutions, recently broke ground on its second manufacturing facility in Malaysia. The 25.54-acre facilty is located within the 380-acre Phase 3 development of Senai Airport City, Johor.


EPG chief executive officer and chairman Alick Wan said the groundbreaking ceremony marks a significant expansion in the Southeast Asian market as part of its global growth strategy.The RM360 million (US$ 80.23 million) facility, named EPG Malaysia Plant 2, strengthens Johor’s digital infrastructure while solidifying EPG’s position as Malaysia’s leading provider of integrated data centre solutions, he added. “With this expansion, EPG is set to redefine data center innovation – delivering high-efficiency, sustainable, and scalable solutions to meet the growing digital demands of Malaysia and beyond.”


According to the company’s Linkedin page, the event was attended by Johor State Investment, Trade, and Consumer Affairs Committee Chairman Lee Ting Han; Johor State Economic and Investment Advisor Datuk Hasni Mohammad; Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Teo Nie Ching; as well as representatives from the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business.


The expansion is expected to significantly enhance EPG’s production capacity and supply in overseas markets, as well as setting a new benchmark for China-Malaysia economic and trade cooperation.
