Internet Thailand Public Company Limited or INET announced investment in a new data operation center project, "INET-IDC4" under the concept of " Net Zero Data Center", aiming to be a leader in cloud services for sustainable growth, expanding the solar farm area of more than 1,000 rai in the Northeastern region to support the continuous growth of the total market value of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud .
Ms. Marakat Kunthamyothin, Managing Director of Internet Thailand Public Company Limited or INET, a full-service ICT infrastructure provider, revealed that according to IDC Research, the overall spending value of organizations in Thailand in 2024 is expected to be 56,000 million baht, a 22% growth due to the rapid transition to the digital age. This has led to a surge in demand for cloud services. In the next 3 years ( 2024-2026 ), it is expected that the “cloud market value for Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) ” will increase from 15 billion baht in 2024 to over 20 billion baht in 2026, representing an average growth rate of 16.6% per year. The market share of domestic cloud service providers has a significant opportunity to expand again due to continuous price increases by foreign cloud service providers. As a leading domestic cloud service provider that aims to create sustainable growth, the company plans to invest in a new data center project, “INET-IDC4,” in the Northeastern region to support the growth and demand for Cloud Infrastructure Services and Digital Platforms by domestic entrepreneurs under the concept of “Net Zero Data Center,”
towards becoming a data center that uses renewable energy from solar power through an investment in a solar farm covering over 1,000 rai. INET -IDC4 will be a modern and environmentally friendly data processing center using clean energy, meeting the needs of businesses that want to grow sustainably. In addition, the company also focuses on developing domestic technological innovations to reduce dependence on foreign technology. One of those technologies is the offering of Open Source Cloud services, which are cloud solutions developed by INET subsidiaries with quality comparable to international standards at lower costs to reduce dependence on foreign technology, with revenue in 2024.
