Telkom Indonesia Searches for Strategic Investor for its Data Center Business

Indonesia's state-owned telecom giant, Telkom Indonesia, has reportedly engaged global investment firm Goldman Sachs and local investment bank, Mandiri Sekuritas, to assist in securing a strategic investor for its data center business, NeutraDC.

Telkom Indonesia's SVP of Corporate Communication and Investor Relations, Ahmad Reza, said, "We hope that by unlocking this data center business, it will give the best value for all Telkom stakeholders."

NeutraDC, a brand under PT Telkom Data Ekosistem—Telkom Indonesia's subsidiary—is positioned as a key digital ecosystem hub offering extensive access to Indonesia's digital users and economy. The business encompasses 29 data centers, including five global and three enterprise facilities within Indonesia, along with numerous edge data centers. It currently operates one hyperscale data center in Jakarta and is in the process of constructing two additional ones.

NeutraDC reportedly commenced construction on a new hyperscale data center in Batam in June, which is being designed specifically to support artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

In March 2024, the company integrated its Telin Singapore data centers under the NeutraDC brand. Telin Singapore, established in 2007 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Telkom Indonesia, had been offering colocation, cloud, connectivity, and managed services from three data centers.
