APAC data center company Princeton Digital Group (PDG) has completed the first phase of its campus in Johor, Malaysia.

PDG first announced it had acquired 31 acres of land from JLand Group (JLG) to 9 develop a 150MW campus in SteP in May 2023. The company broke ground on the project in October 2023 for a planned Q2 2024 completion: the company said it delivered the first 52MW phase of the campus in 12 months.

The company said the 150MW project will see a total of $1.5 billion invested. The company recently secured an RM1.276 billion ($280 million) green loan for the campus. The rooftop of the project will be utilized for generating renewable energy through the installation of solar panels
PDG also signed an energy supply agreement for the entire capacity of the JH1 campus with local utility Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
PDG was set up with the help of Warburg Pincus in 2017 and operates data centers in China, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Japan. Mubadala is also an investor.
Located in Malaysia’s south, Johor is just across the border from Singapore. Though Singapore is starting to ease restrictions around its ongoing moratorium on new data center developments, Johor has grown a sizeable data center market of its own as developments overspill from the city-state
