Japanese operator At Tokyo Corporation (aka @ Tokyo) has launched a new data center in Tokto, Japan.
The new facility, At Tokyo Chuo Center #3 (CC3) is now up and running, the company announced this week. "CC3 is the next-generation data center with superior connectivity and sustainability expected to be one of Japan’s top-tier network hubs," it said in a statement
Located on an 8,000 sqm (86,110 sq ft) site in the Shibaura-Shinagawa area of Tokyo, the multi-story facility offers 40MW across around 8,000 sqm of white space, with capacity for around 3,000 racks
The company said the new facility will serve primarily as an interconnection hub for public cloud services, IXs, and enterprise customers.
After announcing plans for the new facility last year, the company completed construction work on CC3 in May
Founded in 2000, At Tokyo offers services from 11 data centers across Japan; four in Tokyo and three in Osaka, and each in Hokkaido, Okinawa, Hiroshima, and Fukuo
One of the largest in the world, the Chuo Center (CC1) facility in Tokyo spans more than 140,000 sqm and offers 70MW of capacity, while the Tokyo Data Center #2 (DC2) 15 is an underground facility.
