Jun 8, 2023, /The Jakarta Post/ - We all know digital transformation is the topic of the day. But nobody claims it is simple to achieve.
What we need is a space for conversation, to engage and uncover all the quests that businesses like fintech companies struggle with in adapting to digital challenges. This issue was addressed in the Huawei Cloud Indonesia FinTech Summit, themed Unlocking New Growth in FinTech with Huawei Cloud.
The event welcomed 80 representatives from Indonesian fintech companies, including partners, regulators and banks, to unveil the ways we can sustain digital financial inclusion within Indonesia, because digital literacy is the key to unlocking knowledge with Huawei Cloud.
“Huawei Cloud aims to be the leader of the new cloud generation,” began the CEO of Huawei Cloud Indonesia, James Zhang, in his statement at the summit. He later said building a solid cloud foundation was a key initiative in achieving one’s vision. James himself has a vision of his own for our nation. According to James, the company, which is committed to the happiness of its users, wishes to lend a helping hand and contribute to Indonesia’s digital transformation through “our local data center, local services and local ecosystems”. Moreover, deputy commissioner for the supervision of financing institutions and other financial service institutions, Bambang Budiawan, noted ways in which building a digital financial inclusion ecosystem was the most effective way to achieve a 90-percent financial inclusion index reading in Indonesia. Digital adaptation is the key, and union in conversation and understanding needs to be enforced.
“A crucial element of a financial institution’s mitigation of risk from a cloud provider is a comprehensive risk management and oversight program,” said Bambang during the first day of the summit, on May 29.
Bambang noted in today’s world, the robustness of the cloud provider’s risk management needed to be controlled through a program that could scrutinize multiple angles. He suggested due diligence and monitoring, the evaluation of performance metrics, security and risk controls, as well as disaster-recovery plans.
With multiplicity comes diversity. Hence, working with diverse partners to welcome a diverse range of customers is essential, said the vice president of BNC, Indonesia’s largest digital bank, Satwika Daksawardhana, in his opening keynote presentation.
“This strategy might risk security, which in turn slows down iteration and leads to inflexible technology architecture. Fortunately, BNC has a reliable partner, Huawei Cloud, who makes sure that everything happens smoothly,” noted Satwika.
Moreover, Huawei Cloud’s Global Fintech Solutions sales director ended the celebratory first day with some words of wisdom.
“Huawei Cloud has many years of experience serving customers from the financial sector all over the world,” James said. He added the trustworthiness Huawei had sustained over the years was maintained by offering full-stack cloud services and high-quality cooperation platforms. The digital finance solutions offered ranged from agile innovation, smart-risk control and intelligent operations to security and compliance. Injecting new energy into Indonesia’s digital economy is the magic this company aspires to possess on a global scale.
The summit unveiled Unlocking New Growth in Media and Entertainment with Huawei Cloud in Jakarta. The number 80 brought the second day luck: it represented the number of media industry organizations that were present to create new opportunities with cloud advancement in the media and entertainment industry.
Chairman of the Indonesia Chief Editors forum and editor-in-chief of Kumparan.com, Arifin Asydhad, welcomed the audience to journey through his experience in media content writing by enhancing their digitization with the cloud. According to Arifin, this can help narrow the existing digital segregation in the Indonesian media industry, with competent promises.
This reflected what Dian Gemiano said in his speech: video had become the largest segment in Indonesia’s media and entertainment industry. As chairman of the IDA, he envisions an advancement in collaboration with local media and entertainment companies to promote innovation and cloud accessibility.
RCTI+ in particular has reached a spectacular cooperation agreement with Huawei cloud. Rio Anugrah, head of corporate IT application at MNC Media and CTO of MNC Digital (RCTI + & ROOV) further shed light on this.
Huawei Cloud helps RCTI+ enhance users’ experience and increases diversity. These supplement the smoothness of the media broadcast at the AFF Championship final live game.
Johnson Kwok, head of product development of KG Media, and Jamy Lyu, president of Huawei Cloud’s media service product department, embrace the positive changes digitization can bring.
In his speech, Johnson described the ways in which Huawei Cloud unlocked scalability and accelerated news content to users in handling breaking news thanks to the reliable CDN. Jamy implemented Johnson’s note through his keynote speech, Media Service to Media Infrastructure: Unleashing Potential for Industries, centering on Huawei Cloud’s four core pillars: one ecosystem, two service types, three engines and four core capabilities that cover scenario-specific solutions to our digital ecosystem.
Audiences dive into the metaverse and virtual spatiality to connect users entering an immersive world, which Jamy believes to be a trending topic in the digital economy.
In no time, the metaverse will emerge across all industries and James Tan, vice president of Solution and Sales, Huawei Cloud APAC, revealed the not-so-secret audiences have been waiting for. The virtual human-production service, released by Huawei Cloud, will meet real-time interaction, such as mindboggling 3D enterprise space.
To catalyze new growth of the media and entertainment industry is the vision of this emerging virtual reality service.
