On November 4th, the "Huawei Data Center Carbon Discussion Forum -Shenzhen Station" jointly sponsored by Huawei Digital Energy and China IDC Quan was successfully held in Shenzhen. Senior executives and experts from relevant authorities, data centers, industry media, and asset management companies gathered together to share and communicate from multiple dimensions such as policy supervision, technological innovation, and industry-finance integration around the green and low-carbon trend of data centers, and jointly exploring the data center future development direction.
HUANG Chao (黄超), CEO of China IDC Quan
HUANG Chao (黄超), CEO of China IDC Quan, attended the event and delivered a welcome speech. In his speech, he introduced that the series of "Carbon Exploring Forum" events jointly organized by China IDC Quan and Huawei Digital Energy will be held in many cities across the country. In the second Shenzhen station, we invited speeches that combined the two hot topics of "2022 Industrial Energy Conservation Monitoring of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology" and "New National Standard for Energy Efficiency of Data Centers". HUANG Chao said that we have been committed to building an industrial ecological service platform for data centers to provide services for everyone. KZ Group, which China IDC Quan belonged to, has also made achievements in the fields of data center policy standardization support, talent training, industrial financial capital, etc. In the future, we will continue to provide support and services for the data center industry as always. We will work hand in hand to move forward together
LIU Xue (刘学), Consulting and Design Director of Huawei Digital Energy Data Center China
With the vigorous development of the digital economy, the data center as the base is becoming more and more important, and it is showing a new development trend. LIU Xue (刘学), the Consulting and Design Director of Huawei Digital Energy Data Center China, introduced the "Introduction to Data Center Industry Trends" to comprehensively analyze the data center industry policies and market opportunities. He pointed out that "dual carbon" drives energy reform, promotes industrial transformation and upgrading, and drives huge investment, and the data center industry is influenced by it. In order to cope with industry trends such as data center density, intelligence, and multidimensions of the evaluation system, the new generation of data centers should adhere to the concept of "low-carbon symbiosis, integration and simplicity, autonomous driving, and safety and reliability". In his speech, he gave an in-depth interpretation of the four concepts at the technical and practical levels.
SHEN Qingfei (沈庆飞), Advanced Measurement Engineering Center of China Institute of Metrology
With the advancement of the "dual carbon" strategy, the state has gradually strengthened energy conservation monitoring and energy consumption supervision of the data centers. At the forum, SHEN Qingfei (沈庆飞) from the Advanced Measurement Engineering Center of the China Institute of Metrology shared the "Data Center Energy Conservation Monitoring and Energy Measurement" online. Based on the "2022 National Industrial Energy Conservation Supervision Tasks" recently issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, he first introduced the special supervision of energy efficiency in key areas such as data centers, explained the whole process of energy conservation supervision work and the implementation standards in detail, and made a dicussion on the energy measurement system of data centers. Subsequently, he combined the national standard "Data Center Energy Efficiency Limit Values and Energy Efficiency Levels" (GB 40879-2021), which will be enforced from this month, with the previous industry standard "Data Center Resource Utilization Part 3: Electric Power Energy Efficiency Requirements and Measurement Methods" ( GB/T32910.3-2016) , and made a comparison on them and introduced the differences between the two in terms of objects, requirements and functions.
SHEN Shiwei (申世炜), General Manager of Huawei Digital Energy for Guangdong and Shenzhen
Concept and technological innovation is leading the data center industry to make breakthroughs. SHEN Shiwei (申世炜), general manager of Huawei Digital Energy for Guangdong Shenzhen, said in his speech that in order to solve the challenges of high energy consumption, long construction period, difficult operation and maintenance, and high security risks faced by traditional data center construction, Huawei not only proposed the next generation data center concept of "low-carbon symbiosis, integration and simplicity, autonomous driving, safe and reliable” , and has carried out various technological innovations and explorations adhering to the concept. He shared the "Huawei Data Center Solution" at the meeting, and introduced the intelligent power supply, intelligent temperature control, intelligent management system, intelligent micro-module solution, and FusionDC prefabricated modular data center solution of Huawei's data center energy. Combined with specific data center scenarios and application cases, it shows the appearance of the next-generation data center with actual effects and figures.
XIA Chuanggan (夏创乾), President Assistant of Tuoniu Asset Management
Data center is an asset-heavy industry, and capital could be an important boost to the development of the industry. At the meeting, XIA Chuanggan (夏创乾), assistant to the president of Tuoniu Asset Management, shared the "Road to Organic Combination of Data Center Industry and Capital". He introduced that the IDC investment model is generally divided into four types:
l land + building property rights,
l mechanical and electrical equipment,
l land + mechanical and electrical equipment,
l operating platform
At the same time, by comparing the cooperation methods, advantages and disadvantages and problems of each model, it is pointed out that having complete property rights is gradually becoming an important trend in the combination of industry and capital. Data centers have dual investment attributes of real estate and infrastructure, and the combination of IDC industry and capital is becoming more and more popular. In his speech, he comprehensively sorted out the preferences and strategies of different types of capital such as bank loans, financial leasing, private equity funds, asset securitization and public REITs, and green financial instruments.
Under China’s dual-carbon strategy, there is no doubt about the development direction of low-carbon and smart data centers, However, in order to achieve sustainable industrial development, policy guidance such as energy conservation monitoring, breakthrough innovations in technology and products, both of the active participation of data centers and capital assistance are indispensable. In the future, Huawei Digital Energy will invite more industry partners to jointly promote the green and low-carbon development of data centers from multiple dimensions.
