A few days ago, the General Office of the People's Government of Henan Province issued the "Henan Metaverse Industry Development Action Plan (2022-2025)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Action Plan"). It is proposed that by 2025, the development of the Metaverse industry in the province will begin to take shape, the scale of the core industry will exceed 30 billion yuan, and the scale of related industries will exceed 100 billion yuan, and an influential Metaverse innovation leading zone will initially be formed.
According to the "Action Plan", within three years, Henan will build about 10 domestic first-class Metaverse technology research and innovation platforms, form a batch of core invention patents, technical standards and specifications, and initially establish an open and collaborative Metaverse technology innovation system. It encourages landmark breakthroughs on software and hardware and R&D and industrialization of wearable devices. It will build 1 Metaverse core park and 3~5 characteristic parks, cultivate 10 Metaverse backbone enterprises with core competitiveness, 200 "specialized, special and new" enterprises in sub-fields, and 500 innovative small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Action Plan proposes to improve digital infrastructure and consolidate the foundation for industrial development. It will continue to promote the evolution and upgrade of network infrastructure, build a multi-level computing power facility system, promote the construction of urban digital twin bases, and actively deploy new technology infrastructure. It will coordinate and promote the construction of AI infrastructure, create an open, inclusive artificial intelligence platform, and provide low-cost, open, general-purpose artificial intelligence technologies and products for the society.
In addition, in order to promote the agglomeration and development of the Metaverse industry, Chinaa Henan Province will adhere to the "1﹢5﹢N" industrial layout, promote the differentiated, characteristic and coordinated development of the Metaverse industry, and build a national Metaverse innovation leading area. It encourages various industrial parks, technology business incubators and makerspaces to actively undertake the transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements in the Metaverse field, and incubate and cultivate innovative entities and entrepreneurial enterprises. It will expand applications in key areas and promote economic and social integration and innovation. It will build the Metaverse industrial ecology and create a good development environment.
