Since the "13th Five-Year Plan", the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has recommended more than 100 advanced and applicable technology products for data centers and 5G energy saving and efficiency improvement services to the society. In order to create a typical benchmark, three batches of 153 national green data centers were released.

In the future, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will take the following three measures to speed up the energy-saving and carbon-reducing transformation and upgrading of digital infrastructure, and promote the green and low-carbon transformation and high-quality development of the entire industry in a scientific and orderly manner.

The first is to strengthen policy guidance. Encourage the development of "Eastern Data and Western Computing", and guide enterprises to deploy data centers in areas with suitable climate and rich in renewable energy. Continue to publish recommended catalogues and typical application cases of energy-saving technology and equipment products in the national industrial and information fields, and accelerate the innovation and technology application of high-efficiency energy-saving equipment in digital infrastructure. Carry out in-depth industrial energy-saving diagnosis services, organize the implementation of energy-saving diagnosis for data centers and communication base stations, and tap into energy-saving potential to promote energy conservation, carbon reduction, cost reduction and efficiency enhancement.

The second is to create a typical benchmark. In conjunction with the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration, the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, the Energy Administration and other departments, the National Green Data Center will continue to be built, and release the list and typical cases of national green data centers in the fields of manufacturing, communications, Internet, public institutions, and finance. It will strengthen the review of green design, operation and maintenance, and energy measurement to drive the green and sustainable development of the industry.

The third is to improve the energy saving and carbon reduction standard system. It is to accelerate the development and revision of standards related to energy conservation and efficiency improvement in the field of digital infrastructure, and support the development of standards for information and communication equipment energy efficiency, green operation and maintenance, and efficient cooling. It will organize the implementation of national industrial special energy-saving supervision, carry out energy efficiency supervision of data centers, etc., and promote the rational use of energy in key energy-using areas in accordance with laws and regulations.
