On June 30, the main structure of the Qianhai Information Hub Building (前海信息枢纽大厦) project in Shenzhen was topped out. The total height of the building is 118 meters, which is the first data center with a height over 100-meter in China.
In September 2021, the State Council issued the “Plan for Comprehensively Deepening the Reform and Opening up of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone”. The Qianhai Cooperation Zone will build an experimental platform for comprehensively deepening reform and innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and build a high-level gateway hub for opening to the outside world.
Qianhai Information Hub Building (前海信息枢纽大厦) is a landmark project of new infrastructure in Qianhai, located at the intersection of Tinghai Avenue and Guangzhou-Shenzhen Yanjiang Expressway. The project is developed and constructed by Qianhai Holdings and undertaken by China Construction First Engineering Group Construction and Development Co., Ltd.(中建一局集团建设发展有限公司), with a land area of 7,680 square meters and a total construction area of about 68,800 square meters. The ground part of the building is the Smart Qianhai City Operation Management Center, the Smart Qianhai Operation Command Center, the Data Center, and the Post Office, and the underground part is the central cooling station, facilities and equipment rooms.
Different from the existing data centers with 5-6 floors, the Qianhai Information Hub Building innovatively adopts a super high-rise structure as the main body of the building, with 18 floors above ground and 3 floors underground, with a height of 118 meters. The Qianhai Information Hub Building is designed to accommodate 3,920 cabinets, the highest floor height is 10.2 meters, the standard floor height is 5.5 meters, and the maximum floor slab bearing capacity is 1.6 tons per square meter, much higher than the 0.35 tons per square meter of ordinary super high-rise office buildings‘ floor slab bearing capacity.
To this end, the project adopts prefabricated staircases, ALC lightweight partition panels and unitized curtain walls and other building-fabricated components, and combines BIM technology to plan and simulate construction in advance, allocate resources more scientifically and reasonably, and dynamically monitor the construction process in real time.
In addition, Qianhai Information Hub Building (前海信息枢纽大厦) uses a number of sustainable process design techniques:
About the centralized cooling system: set up Qianhai No. 6 central cooling station in the underground space, explore the use of waste heat from Nanshan Thermal Power Plant for cooling, and improve energy utilization in a green, energy-saving and recyclable way. The total installed capacity of the cooling station can reach 19,700 RT, and the peak cooling capacity is as high as 21,300 RT;
Fully enclosed design "constant temperature and humidity", the main building tower is fully enclosed to create a constant temperature and humidity environment to ensure the normal operation of built-in machinery and equipment;
Power supply facilities "energy saving and consumption reduction", using large-capacity uninterruptible UPS power supply system to improve the efficiency of electric energy use and the service life of distribution lines, and improve the energy saving, economy and flexibility of the power distribution system.
According to reports, after the completion of the Qianhai Information Hub Building, it will become the information data service platform of the Free Trade Zone and the command and dispatch center of Qianhai Smart City. Combined with policies like Qianhai's dedicated international data communication channel, data cross-border, cross-domain and cross-level integration, the key resources and core capabilities of information and communication that meet the unique needs of Qianhai are deployed in advance.
