China Unicom Releases 5G New Communication and Establishes Nine Industry Corps|Idcnova-Media|the gateway to China data center market

On the morning of May 17^th, 2022, on the World Telecommunications and Information Society Day on May 17th, China Unicom today released 5G new communication, all-optical high-quality computing power network, and "Silver Age Exclusive" service plan, and announced the establishment nine ‘legions’ for major nine industries.

According to reports, 5G new communication has been upgraded in terms of technology, experience and services. It has joined hands with China Telecom to officially launch 5G VoNR (ultra-high-definition audio and video calling) services in 125 cities across the country, and launched the first eight applications of 5G new communication. By combining 5G VoNR with AI and XR technologies, it will bring users a new experience of voice and video integration, reality and virtual interaction, and communication and AI integration.

China Unicom also released an all-optical base in the computing power era, which provides network capabilities such as ultra-wide coverage, ultra-large bandwidth, ultra-low latency, ultra-high reliability, and intelligent scheduling. Extend the all-optical computing power network to every city and every village, build a new computing network integration ecosystem with computing power as the core, and actively promote the implementation of the "East Data Western Computing" strategy to help the high-quality development of the digital economy.

The International Telecommunication Union has set the theme for this year's World Telecommunication and Information Society Day as "Digital Technologies for Older Persons and Healthy Ageing". China Unicom officially upgraded and released 10 measures of the "Silver Age Exclusive" service plan to systematically upgrade the services for the elderly.

In addition, China Unicom has put forward the "1+8+2" strategic plan to fully develop the main channel of the digital economy, explore the creation of an industry army model, and implement organizational innovation and reform.

China Unicom announced that it has established nine major industry groups for key vertical industries: equipment manufacturing, smart mining, smart steel, clothing manufacturing, automobile manufacturing, smart medical care, smart legal affairs, smart emergency response, and smart transportation. It is organized by ten units of China Unicom Shanghai, Shanxi, Shandong, Hebei, Zhejiang, Chongqing, Guangdong and Sichuan Branch, as well as China Unicom Digital Technology Co., Ltd. and China Unicom Zhiwang Technology Co., Ltd.

The first group of corps formed this time will focus on expanding the innovative application of industrial Internet integration and deepening the layout of various fields such as people's livelihood and government affairs applications.
