Tencent Cloud builds a Data Center in Wuhan - China First Smart Low-Carbon Project|Idcnova-Media|the gateway to China data center market

On March 19, Tencent Cloud started the construction of China first smart low-carbon project - Wuhan Xinghuo Zhongda Gutian 1967 Data Center Project.

The data center is located in Gutian 1967 Industrial Park, Qiaokou District, and was jointly built by Tencent Cloud and its supply chain service provider Wuhan Xinghuo Zhongda Information Technology Co., Ltd. After the completion of the data center, it will be widely used in finance, commerce, cultural tourism, education and other industries, as well as in urban management and government services. It will use blockchain, 5G, AI, VR/AR and other technologies to achieve autonomous driving, high-definition video, intelligent transportation, smart medical and other application scenarios.

The total area of the newly built computer room is about 19,000 square meters, and 2,000 high-power servers will be deployed, mainly for Tencent's own business and Tencent Cloud applications.

SHEN Ke, vice president of Tencent Cloud, introduced that the data center uses multiple new technologies of Tencent Cloud, and all the original scattered construction elements are concentrated in highly integrated micro-modules, which can quickly assemble the computer room. In addition, a large number of low-carbon and environmental protection technologies are applied in the park, and an advanced software monitoring system is built to comprehensively monitor the energy consumption in the park and further improve the efficiency of energy use.

YAO Xiaogang, general manager of Wuhan Xinghuo Zhongda Information Technology Co., Ltd., introduced that a photovoltaic curtain wall will be installed outside the main building of the data center to absorb the heat generated by the computer room, which can reduce carbon emissions by nearly 700,000 tons per year.

YAO Xiaogang said that the company settled in Gutian 1967 Industrial Park in December last year, and the Qiaokou District Government coordinated the park to increase power capacity for the project, and gave great support in terms of funds, policies and expertise. The project is expected to be completed in July this year and put into use within the year.

The relevant person in charge of the Science and Economics Bureau of Qiaokou District believes that the launch of the project is expected to attract more digital economy enterprises to settle in Qiaokou, directly contributing to the development of the digital economy in Qiaokou District, Wuhan City and even the central region.
