340 billion KWH: The annual power generation capacity of China Three Gorges Group’s renewable energy ranks first in the world|Idcnova-Media|the gateway to China data center market

On January 14, the China Three Gorges Corporation announced that in 2021, the Three Gorges Corporation’s renewable energy power generation will exceed 340 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%, ranking first in the world. According to estimates, 340 billion KWH of clean electricity can replace about 100 million tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 280 million tons.

Renewable energy includes wind energy, solar energy, hydro energy, biomass energy, geothermal energy and other non-fossil energy.

In 2021, the Three Gorges Group's domestic hydropower generation will be about 275.8 billion kWh, domestic wind and solar power generation will be about 35.3 billion kWh, and other renewable energy generation will reach 31.2 billion kWh. Up to now, the installed capacity of the Three Gorges Group's renewable energy has exceeded 100 million kilowatts, accounting for about one-tenth of the national installed capacity of renewable energy, of which the installed capacity of hydropower accounts for nearly 70%. In terms of new energy, the Three Gorges Group has formed an onshore "scenery" layout focusing on Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Northwest China and other regions; as well as a concentrated and contiguous large-scale development layout of offshore wind power from Liaoning in the north to Guangdong in the south.

In 2021, the installed capacity of offshore wind power surpassed the UK for the first time, ranking first in the world; the installed capacity of renewable energy including hydropower will exceed one billion kilowatts for the first time; China new energy power generation will be the first time more than one trillion kilowatt hours.
